Job Overview

The R&D Engineer II plays a pivotal role in spearheading medical device development, encompassing strategic planning, execution, and documentation. Key responsibilities include collaborating with component suppliers, working alongside functional engineering teams to craft detailed designs, and ensuring seamless product lifecycle management.


Key Responsibilities

* Develop innovative device concepts within project teams, aligning with performance requirements.
* Create prototypes, conduct thorough testing, and analyze results to identify optimal solutions for technical challenges.
* Utilize CAD software (e.g., Autodesk Fusion) to create detailed component and assembly drawings/specifications.
* Select materials, define assembly methods, and establish process parameters.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, electrical, software) to ensure the integration of components and systems.
* Foster partnerships with external vendors and resources to drive project objectives forward.
* Author procedures, protocols, and technical reports, maintaining detailed documentation of design iterations, test results, and project progress.
* Gain insight into end-user techniques and clinical needs to inform product training material development.
* Stay abreast of new technologies, materials, and methodologies relevant to product development goals.
* Apply engineering principles and simulation tools to design and optimize product components and systems.
* Communicate project status, challenges, and solutions effectively to team members and management.
* Maintain awareness of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in research and development.
* Evaluate and manage technical risk associated with product design.


Benefits and Qualifications

This position requires strong skills in Engineering Principles, including experience with CAD Software, Design Iterations, and Technical Reporting. Proficiency in Communication, Teamwork, and Risk Management is also essential. Familiarity with Simulation Tools and Industry Trends is a plus.
