Comprehensive eye examinations will be carried out working with state-of-the-art technology, working side-by-side with experienced Ophthalmologists and Optometrists as well as a passionate and dynamic team that strives to change people’s lives.
Optilase offers its patients a variety of refractive vision correction options which include; laser eye surgery (LASIK & PRK) and intraocular lens surgery (RLE, PIOL & Cataract).
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
Identify your patients’ refractive error and any potential early signs of eye disease or any other general health conditions
Analyse various aspects of your patients’ corneal eye health, lifestyle, prescription, eye pressures, binocular vision assessments, anterior and retinal eye health assessments
Anterior eye diagnostic imaging captured using equipment such as OCT, Oculus Pentacam, slit lamp microscope, iDesign, Humphreys visual fields, IOL master
Instillation of any necessary eye drops including dilation drops
Insertion and removal of your patients’ contact lenses
Identifying suitable patients for surgery with the procedure & risks clearly explained to the patient
Maintain patients’ records to an excellent standard as per company guidelines
Update excel spreadsheet with all individual patients’ information and their outcomes
Actively participate in quality improvement, risk mitigation and patient safety initiatives. Comply with all policies, procedures and quality standards and take a proactive role in identifying and suggesting areas for improvement
Any ad hoc tasks and duties required by the company needs

Required Education, Training and/or Experience:
Degree in Optometry with experience in a busy practice
Refractive training will be provided
Must be registered with the relevant professional body i.e. CORU in the Republic of Ireland, and GOC if operating in Northern Ireland
Skills & Attributes:
Friendly personal skills with ability to listen accordingly to your patients’ needs
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Keen eye for detail, trained to recognise different patient personalities with ability to adjust the testing room dynamic accordingly
