We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to join our client's finance team on a full-time, onsite basis in Cork. This role is responsible for managing daily accounting functions, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting smooth financial operations.
Main Responsibilities
* Set up and maintain debtor and creditor accounts
* Process customer invoices on a daily basis
* Perform credit control activities to ensure prompt payment receipts
* Liaise with customers and resolve invoice-related queries
* Process cash receipts, customer payments, and bank lodgements
* Input and maintain vendor invoices
* Prepare and process payment runs through online banking
* Complete monthly bank account reconciliations
* Reconcile company credit cards
* Prepare bi-monthly VAT returns
* Process VIES/Intrastat
* Post monthly journals into the accounting system
* Maintain multicurrency exchange rates
* Ensure accurate and organised financial filing systems
* Liaise with auditors and prepare required audit documentation
* Attend training seminars and classes as needed
* Support management with additional tasks as required
Qualifications
* AAT accreditation preferred
* Other recognised accountancy qualifications (ACCA, CPA, CIMA, ATI, etc.) or strong relevant experience are an advantage

* Minimum 1-2 years' experience in a similar bookkeeping or accounting role
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
