EHS Officer
Our Dublin based client are currently recruiting for an EHS Officer to join their team on a permanent basis. As EHS Officer, you will be responsible for supporting the ongoing implementation, development, and continuous improvement of its Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Management Systems. This role is essential in ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and fostering a strong safety culture across all business units. In addition to core EHS responsibilities, the position will involve administrative coordination to support broader operational efficiency across teams. This role will be 100% site based.

Responsibilities:
Safety Management System (SMS):


1. Support the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of the company's Safety Management System
2. Periodically review and update safety policies, the Safety Statement, and other documentation to ensure regulatory compliance and alignment with operational changes
3. Maintain the EHS legal register and stay current with evolving regulations and best practice standards
4. Lead and conduct internal safety audits and inspections; support external audit processes
5. Manage and maintain the risk assessment programme across departments
6. Investigate incidents and near misses, facilitate root cause analysis, and ensure timely closure of corrective actions
7. Promote and uphold a proactive safety culture throughout the organization
8. Track, analyze, and report on EHS performance metrics to senior management
9. Contribute to EHS performance reviews and ongoing improvement initiatives
Chemical Safety & Compliance:

10. Provide expert guidance on chemical legislation compliance, including but not limited to:
11. Chemical Agents Regulations
12. COMAH (Control of Major Accident Hazards)
13. REACH, CLP, and ADR
14. Maintain and manage the master file of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for hazardous materials
15. Lead the EHS risk evaluation process for new product or chemical introductions
16. Conduct chemical hazard risk assessments relating to handling, equipment, and storage
17. Support the organization in meeting COMAH obligations, including compliance monitoring and reporting
General Support & Coordination:

18. Assist in the coordination of EHS administrative tasks across departments
19. Ensure documentation, communication, and procedural updates are maintained effectively
Requirements:
Essential:

20. Qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field
21. 3+ years of experience in a similar EHS role, ideally within chemical manufacturing or a high-compliance environment
22. Strong knowledge of EHS legislation and best practices
23. Experience conducting audits, inspections, and incident investigations
24. Familiarity with chemical safety regulations and documentation, including SDS, REACH, and COMAH
Desirable:

25. Knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, or equivalent management systems
26. Excellent organizational, communication, and report-writing skills
27. Ability to work cross-functionally with teams in operations, quality, and compliance
