Job Title: Project Quantity Surveyor
Location: Cork, Ireland
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Cork. As a key member of our commercial team, you will be responsible for the cost management of fit-out projects across various sectors, including commercial and high-end fit-out.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quantity surveying, with a deep understanding of construction processes, techniques, and systems. You will possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to critically evaluate documentation and identify commercial opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage day-to-day commercial and contract activities
* Undertake contract administration, including change management and maintenance of associated registers
* Negotiate and obtain best value with subcontractors
* Participate in project budgeting, cost planning, and feasibility studies
* Validate and approve subcontractor applications and final submissions
* Prepare accurate monthly Cost Value Reports
* Maintain a productive relationship with design teams and clients
Requirements:
* Third-level qualification in Quantity Surveying & Construction Economics or an equivalent degree recognized by SCSI or RICS
* 3-5 years' experience in quantity surveying
* Strong knowledge of contracts used in the construction industry (RIAI, FIDIC, JCT etc.)
* Commercial awareness, market knowledge, and value-for-money skills
* Excellent numeracy and report-writing skills
* Strong negotiation and conflict management skills
