An exciting opportunity is open for an EHS Specialist to join a well-established organisation, where you’ll champion best practices in environmental, health, and safety. This role is ideal for someone passionate about making a positive impact on site safety culture and ensuring high standards of compliance.
Your New Job
Reporting to the Plant Manager, you’ll act as a trusted advisor to site leadership. You’ll play a central part in managing risk, supporting operational improvements, and driving forward site-wide safety and environmental performance.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with all relevant Environmental, Health & Safety regulations and standards.
Maintain and improve the Environmental Management System in line with ISO 14001.
Represent the site during regulatory audits and monitor progress on ISO 14001 targets.
Develop, implement, and update EHS policies, programs, and training.
Work with contractors to ensure adherence to safety standards and oversee permitting processes.
Set, track, and report on site EHS goals and metrics.
Conduct audits, surveys, and investigations; recommend and follow up on corrective actions.
Lead emergency preparedness activities, including drills and staff training.
Participate in corporate EHS committees and complete all required reporting.
What Are We Looking For?
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Health & Safety.
Strong training skills, ideally with a QQI Level 6 Train the Trainer or equivalent.
Experience in a similar EHS role within a manufacturing setting.
Solid knowledge of ISO 14001; experience with ISO 45001 is an advantage.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Excellent communication skills, sound judgement, and a collaborative attitude.
