Cumann Lthchleas Gael (GAA) is Irelands premier sporting and cultural organisation, with over 500,000 active participants and a large base of non-playing members.
Celebrating its amateur status, the GAA is driven by the voluntary efforts of its members, dedicating all resources to the growth of Gaelic Games and Culture both nationally and within local communities.
Role Profile Cumann Lthchleas Gael is now seeking applications from suitably qualified persons for the role of Head of Operations, Fermanagh GAA.
Thesuccessful candidate willtake direct responsibility for the day-to-day management of the County Committees activities and to develop and manage the delivery of a collective vision for the county to meet the challenges faced by the Association.Thesuccessful candidate will also assist the County Chairperson with implementation of the Fermanagh GAA 5 Year Strategic Plan, including the production of an annual operations plan and a framework to enable officers to operate as an effective team.
Location:FermanaghGAACountyOffices Reporting to:The Head of Operations reports on a day-to-day basis to the County Chair, and to the office of the Ard Stirthir, who appoints a nominee to act as the direct link between his office and the incumbent.
Primary Responsibilities General SupporttheCountyExecutiveintheday-to-dayrunningofthecounty.
Oversee HR functions to support the management and the supervision of full and part-time personnel.
ResponsibilitiesforliaisingwiththeGAAHumanResourcesDepartmenttoensuretheCounty Committeescompliancewith allrelevantemploymentlegislation.
Embedbest inclassgovernance structures Fermanagh GAAensuring thehighest standards of transparency, integrity, accountability, and reporting.
Assist and support the County Head ofGames and other personnel with the implementation of county games development and coaching plan, initiatives, and strategy.
To assist the designated County Officer(s) with the fixtures planning of all codes to ensure a meaningfulandbalancedprogrammeofgamesisprovidedforChild,YouthandAdultplayers.
ResponsibleforoperatingtheCompetitionSystemandliaisingwiththeCountyCCCandother committees to facilitate our games.
OverseearrangementsfortheCountyConventionandproduceanannualreportforsame.
Support the implementation of information technology and improved systems of communication to advance the work of the County Executive.
Support and assist the Gaelic Games organisations on the pathway towards integration.
FinancialManagement ManagementofallfinancialandfundingservicesoroperationsbytheCountyTreasurerand others,whichmustmeetbestpracticeguidelinesintermsofgovernanceandaccountability.
Developandmanageannualbudgetsincollaborationwithotherrelevantstakeholders.
Overseeday-to-dayfinancialoperations,includingaccountspayable/receivable,payroll,and cash flow management.
Monitorfinancialperformanceagainstbudgetandproviderecommendationsfor improvement as necessary.
Managetheticketingsystemsinuseforallfixtures.
Work in tandem with any other personnel as appointed by the County Executive, and the management committee to secure finance for the capital developmentworksat Ashwoods and Lissan.
FinancialadministrationofcountygroundsandoftheInterCountyPlayerInjuryScheme.
Ensurecompliancewithrelevantfinancialregulationsandstandards.
CommercialDevelopment In conjunction with treasurer, leadtheidentificationanddevelopmentofthecommercialopportunities(toinclude,fundraising)onbehalfFermanaghGAAthroughmarketinginitiativesandbybuildingand maintainingrelationshipsandpartnershipswithexternal partiesandbusinessesinsupportof the strategic goals of Fermanagh GAA.
Maximisethecommercialandfinancialdevelopment oftheFermanaghGAACentreof Excellence at Ashwoods.
Seekandsecureadditionalrevenuethrough fundingopportunitiesinconjunctionwith the County Treasurer and any other personnel as appointed by the County Executive.
Developandimplementmarketingstrategiestodevelopthecountycommercially.
Support the County Executive in the implementation of the Capital Development Projects including upgrading and improvement to Fermanagh GAA Grounds and securing grant funding for various projects.
Stakeholder Engagement Establish, build, and maintain strong communications with Ard Comhairle and associated county, provincial and national bodies.
Responsibility for the development and training of a cohesive officer team focused on deliveringexcellenceinallareasofadministrationandgamesdevelopmentwithinthecounty.
Provide the necessary leadership, management, decision making and organisational skills to enhance the county committee operation.
Enhance, build and maintain key lines of communication with Clubs, Schools and relevant Community groups.
Ensure the effective promotion of the Gaelic Games through Club, Schools, Community links and beyond.
To act as a conduit between County Executive and Sub-committees by maintaining key lines of communication and build relationships with key local stakeholders and other agencies includingrecruitmentandmanagementofsponsorsandpartnersandleadasuccessfulcounty over a sustained period.
EnsurethattheneedsofallInterCountyteamsaremet inaccordancewithagreedpolicy Providingthenecessaryleadership,management,decisionmakingandorganisationalskillsto enhance the operation of the County Executive.
Oversee and support the Safety and FacilitiesCommittee in the implementation of Health & Safety policy at venues in the county.
Thepositionholderwillalsoundertakeanyothersuchprojectsorresponsibilitiesasmayreasonably delegated by his or her Manager.
Essential Criteria An appropriate qualification with at least 3 years working experience working in a management role.
Experience of effective financial planning, management and reporting with previous experience of ensuring close adherence to financial and legal governance requirements.
Demonstrate effective leadership and organisational skills with the ability to foster and implement effective change.
Proven experience in establishing and delivering a strategic plan that will generate outstanding results including progressive marketing and commercial strategies.
Excellent people management skills with the ability to build and maintain strong business and team relationships including the management of conflict.
Proven experience in working to tight deadlines and achieving set targets.
Excellent administrative and IT skills.
Excellent communication / presentation and interpersonal skills.
Strong proven ability to work in high-pressure situations, and a flexibility to work out of office hours including weekends as appropriate.
Demonstrable knowledge and experience of developing, coaching strategies and tools.
The role-holder must have access to a form of transport which will enable them to fulfil their responsibilities in full.
Desirable Criteria AknowledgeoftheGAAanditsstructureswithastrong interestand understanding of Fermanagh GAA.
At least 3 years experience of working in the GAA or similar sporting organisation (VoluntaryorProfessionalCapacity).
