Context

IOM Ireland has been operating in Ireland since 2001, currently in following areas of migration management: Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration, Resettlement, Family Reunification, Counter-Trafficking, Protection, Integration Support to Beneficiaries of Temporary Protection, Integrated Immigration Governance and Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS).

IOM provides mental health and psychosocial support to international protection seekers residing in the Citywest accommodation facility with the aim to improve their psychosocial well-being and to strengthen their overall resilience.

Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission in Ireland, the Head of MHPSS Unit, and the direct supervision of the Senior MHPSS and Case Management Associate, in collaboration with all Senior Project Associates, the incumbent will support Mental Health Nursing activities and assist in the care of project beneficiaries and their referrals to relevant support networks.

Responsibilities: Assist in gathering information to support mental health care activities and referrals for beneficiaries.

Contribute to the preparation of care plans or support plans under guidance form the Senior MHPSS and Case Management Associate.

Support follow-up of beneficiaries' cases, helping to link them to relevant services and maintaining basic records of service engagement.

Participate in mental health programme activities such as psychoeducation, awareness sessions, and community support initiatives.

Help identify and facilitate referrals to appropriate internal and external health, social, and community support services, following up with service users.

Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and confidential clinical records in line with organizational and data protection standards.

Work closely with the IOM MHPSS team, HSE services, and other professionals by participating discussions, and joint activities to support continuity of care.

Support beneficiaries in accessing psychosocial, therapeutic, and community-based activities that promote social integration and wellbeing.

Assist in engaging families, support networks, and relevant community services to facilitate access to health and social support for beneficiaries.

Contribute to psychoeducational initiatives, awareness-raising activities, and staff support activities related to mental health and psychosocial wellbeing.

Follow professional, ethical, and safeguarding guidelines and assist in reporting, monitoring, and evaluation activities to support programme quality and accountability.

Qualifications: Education

High school diploma with six years of relevant work experience; or,

Bachelor's degree in General/Mental Health Nursing from an accredited academic institution with four years of professional work experience.

Active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) is an advantage.

Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database .

Experience

Experience supporting nursing, psychosocial or mental health programmes for refugees/migrants, or vulnerable populations.

Experience working with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Knowledge of mental health issues affecting migrant and asylum-seeking populations.

Experience assisting with referrals, documentation, and follow-up activities.

Awareness of Irish mental health services and referral pathways.

Previous experience with international organizations, NGOs, EU Agencies and/or Irish law enforcements or government departments would be an asset

Skills

Strong interpersonal skills, including empathy and emotional resilience.

Intercultural competence and effective communication skills.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for record-keeping and programme support.

Computer literacy in standard software applications (MS Office, etc).

Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary and multicultural team.

Knowledge of community mental health or humanitarian contexts.

Experience supporting programme activities, awareness initiatives, and trainings

Languages

IOM's official languages are English, French, and Spanish

For this position, fluency in English is required (oral and written).
