They are known for high-performance trading systems and innovative software development.About the PositionThey are seeking a Team Lead for one of the teams in their development group. The team is responsible for a broad suite of applications, including business-critical components, supporting both operational and enterprise-level functions.The role involves leading a team of developers, overseeing delivery of multiple projects, maintaining and enhancing existing frameworks, and ensuring alignment with business priorities.Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & ManagementLead, mentor, and manage a team of developers, including planning workloads, setting priorities, providing technical guidance, and conducting performance reviews.Facilitate regular team meetings and one-to-one sessions to encourage collaboration, knowledge sharing, and skill development.Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and mentoring of new team members, including interns and graduates, and enhance the team's mentoring program.Development & DeliveryCollaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into development tasks, creating prioritised work plans and ensuring timely project delivery.Take ownership of software development processes, including architecture definition, design/code reviews, documentation, testing, and deployment.Proactively monitor and maintain production applications in collaboration with support teams.Identify and implement architectural improvements to maintain and enhance component quality and effectiveness.Product & Technical ResponsibilitiesThe team maintains applications across two major areas:Trading / Operations Desk Applications:Critical trader-facing applications (Flask/Dash) and related data generation tools.Operations pair-off and PnL reporting jobs.International data integration (Excel and Python).Dividend trading desk development.Enterprise-Level Tools & Frameworks:Productivity tools (bots, time tracking, and AD group review applications).Python framework management, including Conda repository hosting, package development, and shared environments.Scheduling and alerting of tactical Python scripts developed by business users.Excel add-in development (C# and VBA).Second-level support for MS Excel and Access.Stakeholder CollaborationPartner with business users across Trading, Finance, Operations, and Compliance.Work closely with business analysts, support teams, and infrastructure teams to ensure stability, monitoring, and automation of applications.Experience/RequirementsProven experience leading and managing software development teams.Strong technical expertise in technologies such as multicast, TCP, RV, Kafka, Redis, databases, and Python development.Track record in designing and implementing software solutions from complex business requirements.Experience influencing and motivating team members to achieve results.Personal AttributesExceptional collaboration and interpersonal skills to build strong stakeholder relationships.Strong decision-making abilities, with the capacity to assess risks and communicate clear, timely decisions.Influential leadership, combining technical expertise, confidence, and self-awareness.Self-starter with initiative and drive to deliver high-quality solutions.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to convey complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.Remuneration PackageVery strong salary and benefits package on offer for this role.ContactPlease contact Derek Smyth on or email or simply click the apply button.To view all live jobs with Brightwater and market insights, please visit our website www.brightwater.ieTop of Form
