The Electrical Workshop Team Lead is a pivotal leadership role responsible for end-to-end operations of the workshop - from manufacturing, to repair, to installation. They will have oversight and management of a team of 8-10 electricians and apprentices. Liaising with the Project Manager and Operations Managers, this role maintains a rigorous production schedule, ensuring that all electrical assemblies, panels and projects are produced to the required specification and standards and installation timelines. Responsible for supervising the workshop floor, panel shop, metal fabrication workshop and technical laboratory is maintained to a high standard of organization, cleanliness and order.
Team leadership – Responsible for supervising the team of electricians and apprentices – organizing and allocating tasks, ensuring timely completion to required standards, taking corrective action as required. This is a hands‑on role whereby time is divided between coaching/training and task completion.
Responsible for training apprentices and developing their skills. Developing structured training processes, conducting hands‑on training and developmental coaching and/or correction to ensure all team members deliver to standard, develop their skillset, knowledge and technical abilities through continuous learning and monitoring.
Liaises with procurement personnel and/or may be responsible for procurement of stock and inventory, ensuring that materials/products required are ordered in a timely manner, in stock so that project delivery is not delayed.
Qualifications Experience Requirements
Trade Qualified – must be a licensed/certified electrician with a minimum of 5 years post‑qualification experience, preferably in automation/industrial environments
Proven leadership – Minimum 3 years previous experience in a supervisory/foreperson role within a manufacturing or heavy industrial workshop environment.

Conditions of Employment
Full‑time employment – 39 hours per week plus overtime, travel compensation
Mon‑Fri 08:30‑17:00 with flexibility (occasional Sat/Sun may be required)
Travel – occasional travel to site (domestic, UK/EU, Long‑Haul etc.)
