Health & Safety Administrator – Manufacturing | Co. Cavan | Full-Time
Are you passionate about safety, compliance, and making a real difference on the ground? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading manufacturing operation where safety is truly at the heart of everything we do.
We’re looking for a proactive, detail-driven Health & Safety Administrator to support the day-to-day operations of a busy manufacturing plant. Reporting into the Health & Safety Officer, you’ll play a hands-on role in maintaining and improving safety standards across the site, working in line with ISO 45001, 9001, 14001, 17025, and 50001.
This is more than an admin role — it’s a key function in driving continuous improvement, promoting a culture of safety, and ensuring legislative compliance at all times.
What you’ll be doing:
* Supporting safety initiatives and keeping H&S visible across the plant (training, toolbox talks, audits, etc.)
* Coordinating with external consultants and occupational health professionals
* Participating in fire safety procedures and equipment assessments
* Assessing new machinery, PPE, and chemical safety data (MSDS)
* Monitoring and updating risk assessments and following up on actions
* Assisting in accident investigations and driving corrective/preventive measures
* Organising and contributing to safety committee meetings
* Working within accredited systems (ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 / Q-Pulse)
* Staying ahead of legislation and ensuring team-wide understanding
What you’ll bring:
* Level 7 or 8 qualification in Occupational Health & Safety or Engineering with relevant H&S experience
* Strong IT and systems skills (Microsoft Office, H&S platforms)
* Excellent communication, observational, and problem-solving skills
* Comfortable working in both office and factory environments
* A self-starter with the drive to own tasks and deliver improvements
You’ll thrive in this role if you’re:
* Organised, reliable, and process-driven
* Someone who takes real pride in their work
* A great team player who also works well independently
* Passionate about workplace safety and continuous improvement
