Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our racing function, you will be responsible for ensuring that all racing and associated facilities are well-maintained to the highest possible standard.

The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, a flexible attitude, and experience in driving tractors and operating other machinery. They will also possess a valid driving licence and knowledge or experience in the area of maintenance.


About the Role

1. To drive the hare to required standards at both trail and racing sessions, with training provided as needed.
2. To ensure that traps and all racing-related equipment is well-maintained through a programme of preventive maintenance, agreed upon with the Racing Manager.
3. To work closely with colleagues to maintain the track racing surface to the required standard for both trial sessions and race nights.
4. To effectively process payments at trial sessions and report as per company policies and procedures.
5. To operate at both private and official trials, as directed by the Racing Manager.
6. To maintain the stadium facilities and grounds to the highest possible standard at all times.
7. To cut grass and maintain the infield and surrounding areas of the stadium.
8. To plate and harrow the racing surface using a tractor and specialist equipment.
9. To rake the track surface to ensure that chambers are to the required standard.
10. To provide cover at other GRI locations for any of the duties outlined in the job specification, as requested by management.
11. To deal with owners and trainers in a professional and courteous manner at all times, with a particular focus during trial sessions and race nights.


Required Skills and Qualifications

* Excellent Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
* Maintenance Knowledge or Experience: Familiarity with maintenance principles and practices.
* Driving Licence: Valid driver's licence required.
* Flexible Attitude: Willingness to adapt to changing circumstances.
* Machine Operation: Experience in driving tractors and operating other machinery.
