Description
An opportunity has arisen with the daa Group Finance team for a motivated and ambitious trainee accountant. This role offers exposure to capital investment activities across the daa Group, including Dublin Airport, and provides a strong foundation in financial reporting, budgeting, and decision support. The successful candidate will contribute to the financial management of capital projects while developing their technical and analytical skills in a dynamic environment.
This role will be awarded on a personal contract basis
Responsibilities
The key responsibilities will involve assisting in the following Group Finance activities:
* Assisting with the month-end close process for capital projects, including preparation of journals and reconciliations.
* Supporting the implementation and monitoring of internal controls within capital projects.
* Contributing to the preparation of capital budgets, forecasts, and plans, ensuring timely input from relevant stakeholders.
* Collaborating with Group Finance and Infrastructure teams to provide financial analysis and reporting that supports decision-making.
* Assisting in the review of capital project performance and providing insights to help drive improvements.
* Participating in process improvement initiatives and helping to streamline capital finance activities.
* Responding to ad-hoc queries and requests from the Group Finance and Infrastructure teams.
Qualifications
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
* Part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) or a recent finance/business graduate with a strong academic record.
* Some relevant experience in finance, accounting, or audit (placement or graduate role desirable but not essential).
* Strong interest in financial reporting, budgeting, and capital investment.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
* Analytical mindset with a willingness to learn and develop problem-solving skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with financial systems or ERP tools is an advantage.
