Job Purpose
To perform such duties as required to support the Aeronautical Information Services (AIS) and Air Navigation Services (ANS) Operational functions.
Main Duties And Responsibilities
Operate flight data position to include:
Exchange of flight data with neighbouring ATS units
Monitor operating systems for Flight Plan errors
Monitor the main switchboard for the ATC
Coordinate with the other air navigation service providers as appropriate
Comply with relevant ATS procedures and Letters of agreement
Deal with AFTN messages
Promulgate relevant information for the provision of service
Create flight plans as required
Assist Air Traffic Control Staff as required
Perform data assistant training duties as required
Process flight plans and associated flight safety messages
Perform Air Traffic Services Reporting Office (ARO) Function for the Shannon and adjacent Flight Information Regions.
Provide pre and post flight briefing service to flight personnel
Provide the State International NOTAM Office (NOF) function and promulgate information by way of NOTAM
Process routine requests from other services/agencies
Amend and maintain ANS documentation
Maintain familiarity with relevant technology and regulations
Carry out administrative duties as required
Perform any other related duties as appropriate to the role of a Data Assistant as assigned.

PERSON SPECIFICATON
Essential
Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
Excellent communication skills
Good IT skills, including the full range of Microsoft Office
Ability to work as part of a team
Desirable
Experience in working in a shift environment
Data Entry experience
An interest in aviation and some knowledge of the subject
A third level qualification would be desirable
