Our client is seeking a senior compliance professional to support the growth and governance of a regulated financial services business based in Dublin. This role reports to the Head of Compliance and plays a central part in shaping compliance strategy, strengthening regulatory standards, and supporting business resilience.
The ideal candidate brings a growth mindset, emotional intelligence, and the ability to adapt quickly to shifting priorities. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and have a strong influence on decision-making across the organisation.
This position is classified as a Controlled Function under the Central Bank of Ireland Fitness and Probity Regime.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Head of Compliance with the development and ongoing improvement of a risk-based compliance monitoring program.
* Provide guidance on new regulations and emerging business initiatives, identifying and managing compliance risk.
* Prepare clear and concise reports for senior management, board committees, and regulatory authorities.
* Deliver training across a range of compliance topics including Data Protection, Financial Crime Prevention, and Corporate Governance.
* Develop and maintain compliance policies and ensure they are communicated effectively across the business.
* Prepare regulatory information packs and support inspections and regulatory queries.
* Promote a strong compliance culture and provide mentorship to junior colleagues.
* Use technology and data analytics to enhance oversight and support informed decision-making.
* Identify opportunities to improve processes and drive greater efficiency.
Experience and Skills Required
* At least five years of experience in a second-line compliance role within financial services. Experience in insurance or reinsurance is an advantage.
* Strong understanding of Irish and EU regulatory frameworks including Solvency II, Insurance Distribution, Fitness and Probity, and GDPR. Knowledge of the UK environment is a plus.
* A recognised compliance qualification such as LCI or an ICA Diploma.
* Ability to interpret complex regulation and apply it in a practical and commercial way.
* Confident communicator with strong influencing skills and the ability to engage senior leaders and regulators.
