Overview
My client a well-established Irish food manufacturing business is seeking a Cost Accountant to join the team on a permanent basis.
This is a key role supporting operational and commercial decision-making, with a focus on product costing, margin analysis, and manufacturing performance in a fast-paced high growth environment.
Costing & Margin Analysis
Maintain accurate product and cost data (materials, labour, overheads)
Analyse product and customer margins, identifying key drivers
Support pricing decisions with scenario modelling and cost analysis
Assist with new product costings and ongoing product changes
Manufacturing Performance
Analyse production variances (materials, labour, waste, yield)
Partner with site teams to identify cost savings and efficiency improvements
Track key metrics such as waste, yield, and operational efficiency
Inventory & Month-End
Support month-end close across inventory, WIP and cost of sales
Assist with stocktakes and inventory reconciliation
Ensure accurate inventory valuation and controls
Systems & Reporting
Maintain costing data within ERP systems
Work closely with Procurement to reflect price and supplier changes
Prepare clear reports for finance and operational stakeholders
Support audit and compliance requirements
Key Requirements
Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
Experience in manufacturing or FMCG (highly desirable)
Strong understanding of costing, variance analysis and inventory
Advanced Excel skills and ERP exposure
Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner across teams
