About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Researcher to join our team on a 12-month contract. The successful candidate will have expertise in laboratory management and be able to develop and maintain complex scientific experiments.
* Evaluate new and current laboratories, including logistical arrangements and communication protocols.
* Develop and maintain an inventory of notified body requirements and responses for animal testing purposes.
* Create a 'test-to-fail' strategy to conduct bench testing on products in development.
* Coordinate lab resources and technologies with the in-house advanced science and modelling group.
* Design and implement complex experiments, including technical feasibility assessments and test-to-failure experiments.
* Identify areas of unmet need through collaboration with clinicians and develop innovative solutions.
* Contribute to new product development as a core team member, ensuring alignment with physician needs and practical use.
* Manage key preclinical risks throughout the product lifecycle.
Skills and Qualifications
* Honours degree in Biomedical Engineering, Biological Sciences or a related medical/scientific field.
* A minimum of 6-10 years' experience in experimental design within the medical device industry.
* Prior experience developing animal study protocols.
* Strong technical ability based on a broad and deep knowledge of fundamental scientific principles.
* Excellent writing, presentation and verbal communication skills.
