IT Support Engineer (Contract) | Cork County, Ireland | On Site (5 in office) | 12 Months | £180 - £220 p/d
A large consultancy we are working with are seeking an experienced AVI Vantage Specialist to support a major international end client on a 12 month contract (with a strong possibility of becoming a rolling contract).
This is a key position within an established project management team at AVI.
We are looking for a professional with proven, hands-on expertise in the AVI Vantage platform, able to work both independently and collaboratively across technical and management functions.
What You'll Do
In this role, you'll manage a broad range of responsibilities, including:
Independently driving customer requirements and effectively prioritizing tasks
Facilitating communication between customers and engineering teams, providing clear and detailed updates and instructions
Creating comprehensive technical issue reports and root cause analyses (RCA)
Identifying and escalating product issues, and working with engineering teams to prioritize their resolution
Creating and maintaining case documentation, contributing to knowledge base articles to prevent or resolve recurring issues
Serving as a subject matter expert for at least one Avi deployment option or integration (e.g., vSphere, ESXi, NSX)
What You'll Bring
Strong understanding of networking layers, troubleshooting methodologies, and platforms such as vSphere, ESXi, and NSX
Excellent communication skills, along with strong time management and adherence to processes
Solid knowledge of L4–L7 protocols
Familiarity with web technologies such as HTTP, HTML, and JavaScript
Understanding of essential networking components (routing, switching, firewalls, TCP/IP, etc.)
Experience with Linux OS (preferred)
Experience with REST APIs or programming in Python/Java (a plus)
