Job Summary:
Project Coral represents a significant ICT transformation programme within Beaumont Hospital introducing the Orbis Order Comms solution, IPM, and Orbis ED systems to streamline patient flow, clinical documentation, and operational management. These systems provide a robust foundation for patient-centred, data-driven care.
The Data & Analytics Lead will provide leadership and strategic oversight across the hospital's digital reporting data landscape. This role is pivotal in designing and implementing architecture, cross-application data reporting, and data governance strategies that underpin operational and clinical decision making. The post holder will ensure that data from clinical systems (Orbis, IPM, Orbis ED) and non-clinical sources such as HR, Finance, and other operational systems is integrated, reliable, and used effectively to support improved patient care and organisational performance.
Job Purpose
To lead the design, architecture, and governance of hospital-wide data and analytics programmes, ensuring that digital initiatives deliver high-quality, actionable insights. The post holder will:
* Lead data architecture and reporting integration across multiple clinical and operational systems.
* Develop and maintain data lakes, reporting platforms, and analytical frameworks using Microsoft Fabric and Power BI.
* Promote data maturity and robust data governance practices across the hospital.
* Ensure cross-application reporting and analytics meet clinical, operational, and strategic needs.

Responsibilities
Main Duties and Responsibilities
1. Data Architecture and Design
* Develop strategies for secure, reliable, and efficient data integration across Orbis, IPM, Orbis ED, HR, Finance, and other operational systems.
* Ensure architectural solutions support scalability, maintainability, and organisational objectives.
2. Data Governance and Maturity
* Implement and maintain data governance frameworks, including policies for data quality, security, and compliance across all hospital data sources.
* Lead initiatives to improve data maturity and analytical capability across clinical, HR, Finance, and operational teams.
* Ensure adherence to best practice standards for data use in clinical, operational, and strategic decision making.
3. Cross-Application Reporting and Analytics
* Lead development of integrated dashboards and reports spanning clinical and non-clinical data sources.
* Collaborate with Management information, Reporting Engineers and Configuration Teams to ensure high-quality, actionable analytics for hospital management, operational teams, and clinical staff.
* Advise hospital leadership and management teams on insights drawn from multi-source data, on options to support strategic and operational data analysis.
4. Programme Leadership and Strategic Support
* Provide strategic guidance and leadership to informatics programmes and initiatives.
* Monitor progress of data and analytics projects, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
* Act as a subject matter expert on hospital-wide reporting data architecture, analytics, and governance.
* Manage the reporting teams, day to day deliverables and performance.
5. Stakeholder Engagement
* Engage with clinical, operational, and management teams including HR and Finance to understand reporting and analytical requirements.
* Support hospital-wide understanding and adoption of analytics and data insights.
* Represent the hospital in discussions with external vendors and digital partners.

Qualifications and Experience
* Degree in computer science, data analytics, healthcare informatics, or related field.
* Significant experience in data architecture, analytics, and governance in a healthcare or complex organisational setting.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, and database/data lake technologies.
* Knowledge of clinical and operational systems such as Orbis, IPM, Orbis ED, HR, and Finance systems advantageous.
* Proven leadership experience in delivering hospital-wide data programmes.
