Programme Executive – Energy & Sustainability (Public Sector)

This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role supporting public bodies to enhance infrastructure, reduce emissions, and help achieve national and EU sustainability targets.

Contract:
18 months, full-time
Hybrid:
2 days on site
Hours / Annual Leave:
35-hour week with 29 days annual leave
Salary:
€52,026 p.a. (fixed, non-negotiable)
Key Responsibilities
* Take ownership in monitoring and tracking the progress of high-impact energy projects from concept through to completion.
* Evaluate project outcomes, ensuring quality, compliance, and measurable sustainability improvements.
* Collect, analyse, and report on project performance to demonstrate real-world impact.
* Prepare engaging reports, data insights, and presentations highlighting programme success.
* Assist with procurement and management of technical resources in line with public procurement guidelines.
* Create compelling communications – including web content, case studies, and webinars – to share success stories and best practices.
* Represent the organisation at meetings, site visits, and public events, acting as an ambassador for sustainability.
* Collaborate closely with colleagues and external stakeholders to deliver innovative, high-quality results.
About You – Essential Requirements
* A degree (NFQ Level 7 or higher) in a relevant technical discipline such as Engineering, Science, or Building Services.
* At least three years' experience in a related role or sector (postgraduate studies may be considered).
* A strong understanding of energy efficiency, sustainability, or energy management in public, commercial, or industrial settings.
* Proven track record managing projects and working effectively with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
* Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical information.
* Strong IT proficiency and data analysis skills.
Desirable
* Qualification in Project Management.
* Knowledge of energy-related directives and standards (e.g. Energy Performance of Buildings Directive, Irish Building Regulations).
* Experience in energy decarbonisation, measurement & verification, or cost management.
* A passion for delivering outstanding stakeholder engagement and project outcomes.
