LeitrimContract: PermanentHours per week: 25 hours per weekShift Pattern: Monday-Friday - 8.30am – 11am, 2pm – 4.30pm - Court days will be additional hours as requiredDuties to include but not restricted to;Opening and closing of buildings, offices, consultation rooms, key holding, alarms,call out duty for special court sittings or if an alarm is activated.Daily patrol around building, inside and out and reporting if any area requires attentionCheck heating.Turn on all the lights as required.The caretaker has responsibility for reception areas, guiding the public and jurors to the right area including courtroom. The reception area must be manned during the hours as required.Responsible for collecting and delivering Post. Bring post to post office at end of the day.On Court daysBefore Judges arrives, ensure flag is raised, and later lowered at end of Court sitting.Check judge's chambers are clean and ready for the judge, lights and heating are on.Check courtroom is ready for use.Wait for judge to arrive on the street, ensuring, where required, parking cones laid out for ease of entry, and assist judge with entry with assistance from the GardaTend to all requests from the judge.Vigilant for potential accidents to staff, public, property and bringing any such incident to the attention of the management locally.Dealing with and allowing service people and invitees into building – allow entry to secured areas for technical and service people. Monitor and supervise all deliveries to courthouse and ensure where possible deliveries are made by suppliers to correct destination.Lock building at end of day ensuring all areas are vacant, all lights extinguished, bollards taken in, flag taken down and alarm set.Responsibility for checking fire alarm weekly, time and day to be decided locallyComply with such other duties which may from time to time be assigned provided they are consistent with the overall duties currently assignedComply with Courts Service Customer Charter and Civil Service Code of Standards and BehaviourQualification RequiredGood communication skillsCalm temperamentGood organisational skillsGood initiative4.
