Electrical Engineer Industrial Systems (Co. Cavan) We are recruiting on behalf of a large-scale manufacturing and processing facility in Co. Cavan, seeking a highly competent and reliable Electrical Engineer. This critical role is responsible for the design, maintenance, and reliability of all site electrical infrastructure, control systems, and automation technologies. This position offers project management opportunities and technical ownership within a stable, high-volume production environment. Core Responsibilities The Electrical Engineer will provide technical leadership and hands-on expertise across the site's electrical domain. Power Distribution Management: Oversee the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and future upgrading of site electrical systems, including switchgear, transformers, and low/high-voltage distribution networks. Automation & Control: Take ownership of the site's industrial automation systems, including PLC/HMI programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley) for both fault-finding and system optimisation. Capital Projects: Lead the electrical scope of capital expenditure projects, covering specification, design review, installation supervision, and final commissioning of new machinery and infrastructure. Safety & Compliance: Ensure all electrical work and installations comply with current Irish and EU electrical safety standards and regulations, maintaining all necessary documentation and site permits. Technical Support: Act as the primary electrical expert, assisting the maintenance team with advanced troubleshooting and providing technical training to enhance team capability. Candidate Profile & CompensationEssential Criteria Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related discipline. Minimum of 3 years of post-graduate experience as an Electrical Engineer in a heavy industrial, manufacturing, or process environment. Demonstrable expertise in industrial power distribution and motor control (VSDs, soft starters, switchgear). Proven ability to fault-find and make modifications within industrial PLC programs. Excellent adherence to safety protocols and proven project management skills. Compensation Salary Range: €50,000 €60,000 per annum (Negotiable based on experience with high-volume industrial controls).
