Role Overview
Akkodis is recruiting a
Python Developer
to work with a major
financial services organisation
. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in data-driven environments and enjoys building scalable, high-performance applications for critical financial platforms.
You will partner closely with technology, analytics, and quantitative teams to deliver high-quality software solutions within a highly regulated environment.
Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain Python applications and services used across financial platforms.
* Build and optimise data pipelines and analytics tooling.
* Collaborate with data scientists, quants, and technical teams.
* Ensure code quality through testing, performance optimisation, and best practices.
* Troubleshoot and support applications in production environments.
* Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and architecture discussions.
Required Skills
* Strong commercial experience with
Python (3.x)
.
* Working experience in
financial services
or with financial data.
* Proficiency in
SQL
and relational databases.
* Experience with
Pandas, NumPy
, or similar data-processing libraries.
* Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals (OOP, modular design, testing).
* Git/version control experience.
* Comfortable working within
Agile/Scrum
environments.
Desirable Skills
* Experience with
REST APIs
, FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
* Knowledge of cloud environments (
AWS, Azure, or GCP
).
* CI/CD, automated testing, or DevOps exposure.
* Familiarity with trading systems, risk platforms, or market data.
