In this role, you will assist in the maintenance of athletic fields using a variety of machines, tools, and equipment and lead the crew in the absence of the Crew Leader. Examples of Duties: Instructs other members of crews in proper operational procedures and techniques.Assists the Crew Leader in coordinating the tasks to be performed by the crew; supervises the crew in the absence of the Crew Leader.May requisition or purchase supplies and equipment.Rakes leaves and clay infields.Paints and chalks foul lines. Cleans grounds and removes litter.Assists with the setup of fields for practices and games. Responsible for tools assigned to the truck and will be required to help maintain equipment by use of a checklist.Makes minor on-site repairs to equipment such as ball field drag, spreader, and weed trimming equipment. Receives instruction and training in proper safety precautions, use of tools, etc. required in maintenance. Requires working knowledge of small hand tools such as string trimmers, stick-edgers, blowers, and backpack sprayers.
