We are committed to ensuring a workplace where everybody feels valued and are enabled to succeed in their work and contribute to delivering on our mission.Role Purpose:Working as Legal Counsel you will work with the Senior Legal Counsel and Legal Counsel in our Corporate Services Department to provide essential legal and compliance support to the organisation and its group companies.Responsibilities:General : Centrally involved in significant legal issues, transactions and litigation and managing complex legal matters, recognising when escalation is required to the Senior Legal Counsel and other key stakeholders. Keeping up to date with changes in legislation to ensure compliance.Advice : Providing quality legal and commercial advice in relation to complex issues across the organisation, e.g. advice in relation to company law, data protection law, charity law, employment law and commercial best practice.Contracts (including Data Processing Agreements) : Drafting, reviewing, amending, and negotiating contracts with Concern's partner organisations and suppliers and advising stakeholders in relation to key obligations and potential risks arising from contracts.Governance: Providing support to the Company Secretary and Assistant Company Secretary of Concern Worldwide and group companies on legal issues. Assisting the Senior Legal Counsel with regular governance reviews to verify that governance structures are up to date, integrated and operating effectively, e.g. intra-group legal arrangements, governing documents.Data Protection: Provide data protection legal advice and support to stakeholders.Estates/Legacies: Assisting with managing and advising on any complex issues that arise in legacy cases where Concern is a beneficiary.External Advice : Acting as the primary point of contact with external lawyers if external advice is necessary.
