Operations Accountant Job Description
This role is responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the plant, including planning, controlling, administering, interpreting and reporting financial information to management at a local level and division.
The Operations Accountant will prepare monthly financial reports and annual plans to tight deadlines, as well as control capital expenditure, forecast and report on project expenditure, and ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
* Ensure that monthly accounts are completed and reviewed within a predetermined schedule.
* Update and evaluate the Project Management System.
* Prepare all plans/updates and LBE's for review by Plant Finance Manager and Site Director.
* Produce monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
* Review and maintenance of all Requests for Capital Expenditure.
* Evaluate and record all cost improvement programs.
* Provide support to the Manufacturing Facility, participate in weekly meetings, and be aware of safety.
* Project evaluation involves the continuous update and review of projects to assist the Site Director and Plant Controller in accurate decision-making.
* Variance analysis requires monthly management accounts to be reviewed to identify any deviations from plan or update, thereby enabling corrective action to be taken if necessary.
* Technical activities involve providing advice and information to all employees on accounting issues.
