Our client is currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Graduate Health and Safety Advisor to join their dynamic team. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for a recent graduate looking to build a long-term career in Health & Safety. The successful candidate will be mentored by the HSQE team, supporting the delivery of projects across all aspects of the business from a Health and Safety perspective. This role will provide foundational experience, focusing on developing a strong ethos in H&S compliance, reporting, and documentation. Responsibilities Assist in providing health and safety training to employees, including manual handling, toolbox talks, and safety inductions. Support senior staff in conducting safety inspections and audits. Promote a positive culture towards accident prevention and environmental protection. Assist in the preparation of reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to management. Support the implementation of the client's health, safety, and environmental policy, procedures, and management systems. Help maintain Health & Safety KPIs to drive improvement. Support management in the ongoing development of H&S procedures and policies. Work as a key member of the HSQE team to ensure a safe and productive work environment. Seek to improve H&S standards in a practical manner. Assist in monitoring the implementation of the Health & Safety Management System. Learn to identify site-specific hazards and ensure they are addressed in site documentation. Maintain clear lines of communication with the H&S Manager. Assist in maintaining site folders and statutory records. Support site management in complying with statutory H&S requirements. Assist the Health & Safety Manager in developing and implementing Risk Assessments and improving Safe Systems of Work. Contribute to accident and incident investigations. Help identify training needs for site personnel and contractors. Perform other related ad-hoc tasks as required. Requirements A 3rd level qualification in Occupational Health and Safety (or a related field) is essential. A full, clean driver's license is essential for this role. A strong interest in the civils, drainage, or utilities (water & electricity) sectors is highly desirable. Confident, motivated, and able to work independently as well as part of a team. An ability to work under pressure and manage strict deadlines. Strong time management and organizational abilities. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills. Demonstrates integrity and respect for confidentiality. A willingness to build strong working relationships with colleagues and contractors from various backgrounds.
