Job Description:
This is a challenging role for a qualified and experienced nurse who is looking to advance their skills.
* To work collaboratively as part of a team of nurses at an esteemed hospital, delivering high-quality patient-centered care.
* Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all members of the multi-disciplinary team.
* Work closely with nursing colleagues to develop innovative practices within the unit, delivering evidence-based care.
* Acquire specialist knowledge of nursing practice related to their clinical area.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure delivery of the highest possible standard of patient care.
* Act as preceptor to preregistration students, mentor new clinical staff and provide guidance to non-clinical staff.
* Support and guide colleagues when needed.
* Liaise with educational institutions to develop the hospital as a recognized learning environment for student nurses.
Clinical Excellence & Audit:
* Participate in and lead clinical audit and research activities, promoting a positive attitude towards evidence-based practice.
* Conduct research/clinical audits, critically analyze results and provide written reports.
* Participate in local audits to prepare for annual accreditation.
Health, Safety & Wellbeing:
* Maintain adherence to hospital policies regarding fire safety, infection control, radiation safety and health and safety regulations, attending necessary updates.
* Identify potential risks for all staff, patients and visitors, adhering to relevant incident reporting procedures.
Professional Development & Education:
* Develop skills to act as shift coordinator/team leader, including workload assessment and allocation to ensure patient and staff safety.
* Manage workload to ensure patient care needs are met and allocated breaks are taken by staff.
