This full-time and permanent position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer.

Role Purpose: The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting strategic financial planning, working with a high-performing team, and contributing to the overall financial health and governance of the credit union.
In addition to core finance responsibilities, the Financial Accountant will champion continuous improvement initiatives, foster a culture of excellence, and contribute as part of the team liaising during audits and regulatory reviews.

Key Responsibilities/ Accountabilities: WorkalongsidetheHeadofPayments&theCFOtoensuretheeffectiveday-to-day operations of the finance function.
Adherence tofinancial governance internal policyand procedures and associatedregulations and legislation.
Prepare daily End of Day office routines and reconciliations Maintain monthlyreviewandsignoffofbankandcashreconciliations MaintenanceoftheFixedAssetRegister.
Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports.
EnsurecompliancewithQuarterlyandAnnualreturnstorevenue commissioners and regulatory authorities as required.
Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, financial projections, and AGM reports.
Facilitate interim and annual audit.
Key Requirements: FullorPart-QualifiedAccountantwiththeaimofpursuingacareerinAccounting in the Financial Services Sector QFAqualifiedorwiththeaimofcompletingtheQFAExams Minimum 3 years experience in accountancy practice or a financial management role, ideally within a regulated environment.
Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills.
ProficiencyinMicrosoftOffice,especiallyExcelandPowerPoint Accountingsystemse.g.
SageLine50experience.
CreditUnionexperiencewouldbedeemedanadvantagebutnotanecessity Aproactive,detail-oriented,andcollaborativeapproach.
High standards of professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct.
Thispositionwillbeafull-time,36 hours per week,positionandwillbesubjecttoaminimumprobationary period of 6 months, primarily based at our Head Office in Castlebar, Co.
Mayo.
Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications & experience.
