Senior Mechanical Project Manager

Overview
Our client is a long-established engineering and construction contractor operating across pharmaceutical, semiconductor, industrial, commercial and related sectors. Due to continued expansion, they are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Project Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-starter with strong leadership skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to manage complex projects from conception through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee all aspects of selected mechanical projects, including planning, budgeting, scheduling and delivery.
* Coordinate with internal design and engineering teams to ensure all projects meet specification, deadlines and cost targets.
* Utilise internal project management systems to track progress and ensure team compliance.
* Ensure effective collaboration across all project disciplines (BIM, Engineering, QA, Procurement), resolving issues as they arise.
* Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, ensure quality and compliance, and identify potential risks.
* Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors; support contract and agreement negotiations.
* Manage project financials, including cost control, forecasting, and reporting.
* Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, industry standards, and health & safety requirements.
* Implement structures and procedures to monitor expenditure against budget.
* Produce timely commercial and project reports for senior management.
* Work closely with Directors and Site Managers to identify risks, support strategic decision-making, and drive successful project outcomes.
* Issue weekly and monthly progress reports to stakeholders.
* Support internal teams and senior leadership to achieve broader business objectives.
Candidate Requirements
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
* Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Mechanical Project or Contracts Manager, plus 5+ years as a Project Engineer within the Mechanical/HVAC sector.
* Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, HVAC, and process systems (design, installation, operation).
* Excellent project management skills, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk control.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and influence stakeholders.
* Proven ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects and perform well under pressure.
* Willingness to travel within Europe when required.
* Full driving licence.
