Trade Counter Retail Assistant - Tullamore
My client, a nationwide supplier of building materials, plumbing, hardware, and DIY products, is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Trade Counter Retail Assistant to join their busy branch in Tullamore.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong interest in the trade and retail industry, offering the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment with hands-on training and support for long-term career development. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting day-to-day operations, delivering excellent customer service, and maintaining stock levels.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Providing excellent customer service at our busy Trade Counter maintaining high company standards.
2. Assisting customers/potential customers on their product selection detailing benefits/technical features of products.
3. Ensuring the efficient processing and follow-up of customer quotations.
4. Cash handling and operation of our in-house stock system.
5. Assisting the Shop Manager with merchandising and keeping the shop at the highest standards of health and safety and cleanliness.
6. Maintaining effective communications with our suppliers regarding the sourcing and delivery of products.
7. Providing support to our External Sales Team.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
8. Previous experience of providing excellent face to face customer service within a retail environment essential.
9. Previous experience of working on a Trade Counter desirable.
10. Good knowledge of Hardware, DIY and Plumbing Materials.
11. Excellent teamwork and organisational skills.
12. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
13. Proficient in the use of IT and have good computer literacy.
14. Reliable and punctual.
