The Health and Safety Manager will play a pivotal role in developing, implementing, and maintaining health and safety protocols across all operations.
This position requires a proactive professional who can balance strategic oversight with hands-on engagement, driving continuous improvement and ensuring the well-being of all employees, contractors, and visitors.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures across all operations.
2. Cultivate strong safety practices and awareness among supervisors and managers at every level.
3. Promote a positive and proactive safety culture through behavioural safety initiatives.
4. Participate actively in the farm management team, owning the safety agenda and driving continuous improvement.
5. Conduct regular safety audits and maintain up-to-date safety records.
6. Lead and coordinate the site safety committee, ensuring effective communication and follow-up on actions.
7. Oversee contractor safety management, including risk assessments, method statements, and compliance documentation.
8. Ensure accurate and timely reporting on safety metrics, incidents, near misses, and improvements.
9. Monitor operational processes to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and industry standards.
10. Investigate and report on accidents and incidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
11. Maintain relationships with relevant authorities, ensuring regulatory obligations are met.
12. Stay abreast of legislative changes and best practices in health and safety management.
13. Cultivate and deliver safety-related training, including manual handling and site inductions.
14. Select and monitor external safety service providers.
15. Ensure training needs are met across all sites, maintaining detailed training records and certifications.
16. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate safety into all aspects of business operations.
