Longford.
This is an excellent opportunity for an Accounts Assistant to join a stable, well-established business with a strong reputation for quality, customer service and operational excellence.
Role Overview
The Accounts Assistant will support the day-to-day finance function, assisting with accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, invoice processing, supplier/customer queries and general finance administration.
This role would suit a detail-focused, organised and reliable accounts professional who enjoys working in a busy office environment and is comfortable supporting a hands-on finance team.
Key Responsibilities
Process supplier invoices, purchase orders and delivery dockets accurately and efficiently.
Assist with accounts payable, including supplier statement reconciliations and payment preparation.
Support accounts receivable duties, including issuing invoices, allocating payments and following up on outstanding balances.
Reconcile bank accounts, supplier accounts and customer accounts as required.
Maintain accurate financial records and ensure documentation is filed correctly.
Assist with month-end processes, reports and general ledger support.
Handle finance-related queries from suppliers, customers and internal departments.
Support payroll administration where required.
Assist with VAT, revenue returns and compliance-related administration.
Work closely with the wider office, sales, operations and logistics teams to ensure accurate financial information.
Provide general administrative support to the finance department.
Ad-hoc finance and office duties as required.
Requirements
Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant, Accounts Administrator or similar role.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and general accounting systems.
Experience with accounts payable and/or accounts receivable.
Ability to manage deadlines and prioritise work in a busy environment.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
A practical, flexible and hands-on approach.
Experience in manufacturing, agri-business, logistics, FMCG or a similar environment would be an advantage but is not essential.
