THE COMPANY
An international garden design, landscape build and maintenance company with over 25 years experience based in the Ireland the UK and France. Headquarters in Ireland and uniquely only focusing on high end residential garden deign, build and maintenance. In addition they have a six acre nursery with a garden centre and café. Focused exclusively on sizable residential garden projects, they carry out all external works, hard landscaping, and planting with a focus on instant maturity.
THE POSITION
Detail of Responsibilities
Reporting to the CEO, the Director of Operations (DOO) will oversee a national operations team of approximately 70+ employees spread throughout the Leinster area and sometimes nationally and overseas. The DOO will provide leadership, management, and vision to ensure that the company delivers exceptional operational outcomes to meet agreed upon growth objectives.
Role Overview
Reporting to the CEO, the strategic objective of the DOO will be to lead and manage all operational activities. The DOO must plan for and manage the development of the resources necessary for sustained growth, putting the right infrastructure and organisation structures in place to deliver objectives, and ensuring long term sustainability of the organisation.
Specific Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

Drive quality and profitability to meet or exceed company objectives
Create clarity of roles and full accountability for performance of the business in terms of top line growth and efficiency (earnings) that are sufficiently predictive to enable near real-time intervention into problem areas
Assess organisational structure and recommend changes for optimisation and efficiency
Develop appropriate KPIs to measure and predict performance bottom line growth, efficiency, etc.
Partner with senior leadership team to evaluate current strategies of organisation to ensure continued growth and success
Continually drive innovation within operations
Champion the recruiting, selecting, orientating, training, coaching and disciplining of the operations team as needed
Champion the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of organisational management protocols, practices, and tools

Functional skills/experience needed

Proven ability to deliver projects and commercial outcomes
Set and measure performance targets to deliver on the business plan
Field services leadership experience (distributed team)
Prior national operations scope experience (national customer base/national brands)
Operations team leadership of at least 50+ employees
Proven experience in process strategy and implementation
Organisational assessment and strategy
KPI development and management
Experience working in highly complex organisations
Recruitment, selection, and on-boarding/training of staff
High-end customer focus and experience

Industry Experience: Construction Services

Residential construction services
Non-Residential (commercial) construction

Required skills

Proven Ability to deliver projects and commercial outcomes
Customer focused mindset, our customers are our biggest asset
Previous working experience as Director of Operations/Chief Operating Officerfor (5) years
MA in Business Administration or similar relevant field is beneficial.
In-depth knowledge of different business functions such as HR, finance, marketing etc.
Hands on experience in funding, strategic planning and business development
Good knowledge of data analysis and KPIs
Familiarity IT/Business infrastructure
Outstanding organisational and time management skills
Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
Great communication and presentation skills
Problem-solving mindset

Management & Leadership Experience

Experience reporting to CEO/President in past
Experience leading team of significant size
Successful history meeting and exceeding KPIs and key metrics for organisations
Passion for and prior history of creating high performing teams
Player-coach approach to management/leadership
Defined by others as smart, capable, hands-on and someone who possesses a strong entrepreneurial spirit
Building scalable management processes without suffocating innovation/speed
Remote/virtual team management

Team
The operations team consists of approximately 50+ employees spread throughout Ireland.
Compensation
Compensation is competitive with the positions requirements. In a performance-based environment, this will include base salary, a bonus structure based on corporate qualitative and quantitative business development targets, and an equity component.
