About the Role
As Principal Scientist, you will lead cross-disciplinary research efforts spanning molecular biology, RNA therapeutics, extracellular vesicles, and gene-based approaches. You will oversee complex in vitro and in vivo studies, guide strategic scientific decisions, and support progression of new therapeutic concepts toward clinical development.
This role is ideal for a scientist with deep technical expertise, strong leadership skills, and a passion for translating cutting-edge biology into meaningful patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead advanced discovery and preclinical research projects in respiratory or RNA-based therapeutic development.
* Design, execute, and oversee a wide range of experimental programmes, including molecular assays, cellular models, and animal studies to evaluate efficacy, safety, and biodistribution.
* Collaborate closely with teams across Process Development, Analytical Sciences, Translational Biology, and Regulatory Affairs.
* Mentor and develop junior scientists and research associates, fostering a high-performance, innovation-driven culture.
* Analyse, interpret, and present scientific data to internal stakeholders and at external scientific conferences or publications.
* Contribute to scientific strategy, target evaluation, and platform-level innovation.
* Support preparation of technical documentation for regulatory filings and grant applications.
Qualifications & Experience
* PhD in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, or a related life science discipline.
* Minimum 8 years of R&D experience within biotechnology or pharmaceutical environments.
* Proven track record of leading research projects and delivering results within fast-paced settings.
* Expertise in extracellular vesicle biology, RNA or protein cargo design, gene-based therapeutics, or pulmonary/inhalation delivery is highly desirable.
* Strong communication, data interpretation, cross-functional collaboration, and scientific mentorship skills.
