Manufacturing Engineer
Please note that this is an on-site role based in Kerry.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Manufacturing Engineer to second into a highly advanced biologics manufacturing site in Kerry, supporting equipment performance, process optimisation and ongoing site growth.
About the Role

Provide daily technical support and troubleshooting across manufacturing operations and equipment systems.
Collaborate with Operations and Engineering teams to optimise equipment design, reliability and performance.
Develop and maintain technical procedures, guides and training materials to support equipment operation and troubleshooting.
Lead technical problem‑solving activities and support process improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency and operational performance.
Support validation activities through collaboration with Validation teams to ensure manufacturing and test readiness.
Contribute to lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement projects across operations and engineering functions.
Support aseptic filling and lyophilisation manufacturing processes and equipment performance.
Provide troubleshooting support across PLC and SCADA control systems.
Support commissioning, qualification and validation activities.
Assist in establishing operational best practices, procedures and manufacturing standards.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including Quality, Operations, Validation and Engineering to support manufacturing objectives.
Ensure compliance with GMP, health & safety and site quality standards at all times.

Required Experience

Degree qualification in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
Experience working within biologics, pharmaceutical or regulated GMP manufacturing environments.
Strong technical troubleshooting and problem‑solving capability within manufacturing operations.
Experience supporting aseptic filling and lyophilisation processes (preferred).
Experience working with manufacturing equipment, process systems and automation infrastructure.
Exposure to PLC and SCADA systems within a manufacturing environment.
Experience supporting validation, commissioning or qualification activities.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively across cross‑functional teams.
Ability to operate effectively within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Desirable Experience

Experience within a greenfield or startup manufacturing environment.
Exposure to lean manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives.
Experience developing SOPs, operational procedures and training documentation.
Familiarity with highly automated manufacturing operations.
