Critical Infrastructure Specialist
Opportunity
The Critical Infrastructure Specialist is accountable for the reliability, security, and compliance of site-level critical infrastructure supporting manufacturing and laboratory operations. This role serves as the single point of accountability for IT‑for‑OT infrastructure at the site, ensuring services are delivered in alignment with global CIM standards, cybersecurity requirements, and GxP expectations. The position safeguards continuity of supply by proactively managing infrastructure lifecycle, risk, and performance across OT hosting, endpoints, and network environments. The role operates within Takeda’s global operating model while ensuring effective local execution in a 24/7, production‑critical environment.
Responsibilities
Own availability, performance, resilience, and compliance of all site critical infrastructure supporting OT use cases
Manage infrastructure risks including capacity, obsolescence, and single points of failure
Ensure infrastructure is fit‑for‑purpose to support uninterrupted manufacturing and lab operations
Ensure infrastructure services meet GxP, data integrity, and validation requirements
Support audits and inspections, including documentation, evidence, and remediation
Maintain infrastructure in a validated and inspection‑ready state at all times
Apply global CIM, infrastructure, and OT cybersecurity standards at the site level
Ensure alignment with IT4OT architecture, including segmentation and secure design principles
Partner with Global Cybersecurity to manage vulnerabilities, incidents, and risk mitigation
Implement, operate, and maintain OT hosting platforms (compute, storage, virtualization, Citrix)
Manage OT endpoints, including configuration, patching, and operational support
Support infrastructure lifecycle activities including upgrades, migrations, and decommissioning
Ensure availability and resilience of OT network infrastructure supporting manufacturing and labs
Enforce network segmentation and security standards aligned with global architecture
Coordinate network changes, incidents, and recovery activities impacting production systems
Operate services in line with ITSM processes (Incident, Problem, Change, Request)
Maintain CMDB accuracy, service documentation, and KPI/SLA performance
Proactively monitor infrastructure health, performance, and capacity
Manage infrastructure lifecycle including patching, upgrades, and end‑of‑life planning
Maintain asset and configuration management in line with global standards
Partner with site leadership, Quality, Engineering, and Automation teams
Coordinate activities with production schedules and validation requirements
Manage third‑party vendors and ensure service delivery meets site needs
Support delivery of infrastructure initiatives and projects at the site
Drive continuous improvement in infrastructure reliability, standardization, and performance
Contribute to global knowledge sharing and adoption of best practices
Job Requirements
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Experience supporting IT/OT infrastructure in manufacturing or laboratory environments
Exposure to GxP‑regulated environments, including validation and inspection readiness
Good to very good knowledge in: Microsoft server products and the relevant server roles (Active Directory, File & Print Services, Microsoft Exchange)
IT security products (Secomea, etc.)
Skills in virtualization (VMware and Hyper‑V)
Knowledge of backup concepts, use of AVAMAR or similar tools
Experience with patch management tools (preferably WSUS and Ninja One)
Experience with Citrix (maintenance, setup)
Key Skills & Competencies
Strong understanding of Critical Infrastructure Management (CIM) and IT‑for‑OT environments
Experience with OT infrastructure, including hosting platforms, endpoints, and networking
Knowledge of OT cybersecurity principles and secure architecture design
Familiarity with GxP requirements, data integrity, and validated systems
Experience with infrastructure lifecycle management (patching, upgrades, obsolescence)
Working knowledge of ITSM processes and tools (e.g., ServiceNow)
Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues in production‑critical environments
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across technical and business teams
Ability to prioritize and execute in high‑pressure, 24/7 operational environments

Base Salary Range
€57,800.00 - €79,420.00
