The Flying Enterprise Complex, a busy and established hospitality venue in Cork featuring a Bar, Restaurant, Courtyard, Deli and Event Spaces, is now seeking an enthusiastic and capable Shift Supervisor to join our growing team.
About the Role
As a Shift Supervisor, you will support the Duty Manager and General Manager in delivering a smooth, efficient and high-quality service across the entire complex.
You will act as a key point of contact for staff and customers during your shift, ensuring standards, service, and safety are consistently maintained.
This role is ideal for someone with strong floor experience who is ready to step into a leadership role.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise bar, floor, deli and courtyard operations during your shift
Lead by example, ensuring excellent customer service at all times
Support staff on the floor, ensuring proper cover, break management and workflow
Assist with training and mentoring junior staff
Handle customer queries, complaints and service recovery professionally
Ensure compliance with health & safety, food safety and licensing rules
Assist with cash handling, till operations and float checks
Oversee stock levels and communicate shortages
Coordinate with the kitchen and bar teams to maintain smooth service
Report incidents, maintenance issues or operational concerns to the Duty Manager
Requirements
Experience in hospitality (bar, restaurant or venue)
Previous supervisory experience is an advantage but not essential
Strong communication and leadership skills
Ability to work well under pressure in a busy environment
Positive attitude, reliability and a passion for great service
Willingness to learn and grow into more senior roles
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays
