Purpose of the Role
To drive excellence in crop production through strategic planning, effective management, and innovative practices, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, sustainable yields that align with the company's "Better Food, Better World" mission. This role is responsible for the holistic management of crop production, from planning to harvest, ensuring the company’s goals are achieved while maintaining a strong commitment to sustainability and quality. This role is vital for the successful of the Retail Farms business unit.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
Strategic Crop Management:
* Monitor and analyse crop performance, reporting on strategy performance as appropriate.
Crop Management
* Support Cost effective crop management strategies, to achieve production targets in line with our companies Better Food, Better World mission.
* Ensure that sustainable agricultural practices are observed throughout production crop systems.
* Ensure that crops are managed in accordance with food safety legislation, environmental legislation and appropriate accreditation body standards.
* Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure the highest standards in crop production and harvesting.
* Collaborate with the Quality Assurance / Agronomy and Operations team(s) to ensure consistent product quality.
Grower Management
* Work collaboratively with all growing team to achieve production targets in line with our companies Better Food, Better World mission.
Agronomy Support
* Coordinate with the agronomy team to delegate tasks related to crop monitoring and advisory services as appropriate.
* Ensure timely and accurate reporting on crop health and management activities.
Risk Management
* Support the implementation of risk management strategies within your area of responsibility
* Support the farms business unit to deliver on integrated risk management processes and procedures throughout the business unit.
Essential
Key Skills
* Must hold a full and clean driving licence Valid in Ireland, England and EU.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Be able to perform well under pressure in an ever-changing environment.
* Highly accurate and fine attention to detail essential
* Candidates must speak fluent English. Additional language skills would also be desirable.
