Maintenance Manager Role Overview
An experienced and proactive maintenance professional is sought to lead a team responsible for maintaining fleet, plant, and facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee the servicing of HGVs, construction plant, and site equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
* Develop and implement preventative maintenance strategies to prolong asset life and reduce costs.
* Lead a team of fitters, mechanics, and support staff to achieve excellent maintenance outcomes.
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations through effective risk management practices.
* Manage maintenance budgets, procurement of parts, and contractor relationships to achieve business objectives.
* Monitor and maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and service history to inform future maintenance decisions.
* Coordinate emergency repairs and respond promptly to breakdowns to minimize disruption.
* Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to align maintenance activities with operational requirements.
* Promote continuous improvement in maintenance practices and asset performance through data-driven decision making.
Requirements:
* Proven experience in a maintenance leadership role, preferably within the quarry, construction, or civil engineering sectors.
* Strong technical knowledge of HGVs, plant machinery, and workshop operations to inform strategic maintenance decisions.
* Excellent leadership and team management skills to motivate and develop high-performing teams.
* Proficiency in maintenance planning and asset management systems to optimize maintenance efficiency.
* A valid clean driving licence (HGV licence an advantage).
* Relevant qualifications in mechanical engineering, plant maintenance, or a related field to underpin maintenance expertise.
