Job Title: Automation Equipment Engineer II


About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Automation Equipment Engineer II to join our team.


Main Responsibilities:

* Documentation: The successful candidate will be responsible for generating detailed specifications, design, development, and testing documentation for new equipment and automated systems. This includes creating comprehensive technical documents that meet medical device standards.
* System Knowledge: Our ideal candidate will have developed and applied expertise in various automation systems, including PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens, etc.), HMIs, vision systems, robotics, PC software, and databases.
* Troubleshooting: In this role, you will analyse, understand, and fault-find complex automated equipment to ensure optimal performance.
* Code Management: You will develop, test, and install code changes to existing equipment under strict change control procedures, maintaining comprehensive documentation to medical device standards.
* Project Management: As part of our cross-functional teams, you will actively participate in projects (including new product introductions and equipment upgrades) to ensure timely delivery and quality standards are met.
* Optimization: Your task will be to identify and implement equipment and system upgrades as part of continuous improvement programs, using metrics like Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) to drive optimum performance.
* Compliance: The Automation Equipment Engineer II must ensure compliance with EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) standards and all quality system requirements.


Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree: A relevant Bachelor's degree in a field such as Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field is required.
* Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in automation engineering, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
* Skills: Strong knowledge of automation systems, including PLCs, HMIs, vision systems, robotics, PC software, and databases. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Certifications: Relevant certifications, such as Certified Automation Professional (CAP), are a plus.
