Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Seafreight Operator will provide a professional and efficient sea freight operations service to both internal and external customers.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Processing shipment bookings for Forwarding operations
Monitoring shipments from point of customer booking to arrival at final destination and customer payment
Providing a high level of customer service to both internal and external customers
Liaising with local and international vendors and agents to ensure that the best rates and services are secured
Liaising with transport vendors regarding collections or deliveries
Processing sales and purchases invoices and dealing with any queries relating to customer/creditor invoices
Dealing with rate requests and issuing quotations
Customs Clearance awareness – SAD's, requirements, Etc
Development of sea freight services
Additional Duties
Assisting with holiday cover within the operations office
Providing administration support to other freight departments when required
Occasional Customer visits
Projects
Carry out any additional duties which may be assigned from time to time
