The Pro Shop Manager ("PSM") position at Hogs Head Golf Club ("HHGC") is a wonderful opportunity to serve at one of the top private, resort golf clubs in the world.
HHGC is seeking an experienced, dynamic and innovative ("PSM").
The role functions as an ("PSM") will oversee the strategic planning in running the daily operations of the Pro Shop.
The ("PSM") will consistently provide superior retail experiences for the Club's membership and guests.
This position will work closely with and report directly to the PGA Professional and PGA Director of Golf of Hogs Head Golf Club.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Performs other duties as assigned by management.
· Analyses, forecasts, management and orders golf merchandise.
· Develops and implements annual merchandise buying plan, for the Pro Shop and Online store.
· Produces satisfactory gross margin through control of initial markups, markdowns, shrinkage control, vendor returns and markdown allowances; develops strategies to be able to react appropriately to changes in sales trends.
· Schedules, purchases and prepares purchase orders in coordination with accounting team.
· Ensures open orders and invoice discrepancies are resolved.
· Maintains vendor relationships, research and schedules appointments as necessary.
· Reviews vendor lines: attends appointments as needed to assist in buying decisions with Director of Golf.
· Prepares and reviews month-end, year-end and inventory reports.
· Prepares and analyses reports as requested.
· Develops sales promotions and timing calendars, assortment plans and programs to achieve sales and profit goals.
· Develops seasonal newsletter (Hog Times) in coordination with other departments.
· Verifies, codes and approves invoices for payment.
· Regularly merchandises and restocks Pro Shop; arranges and displays new merchandise lines in Pro Shop and other areas as necessary.
· Assists operations in servicing guests and answering phones when needed.
· Composes, prepares and proofreads correspondence, Member emails and other documents as necessary.
· Manages and maintains annual inventory and operating budgets.
· Responsible for achieving sales, mark-up, gross margin and turnover of inventory.
· Supervises team members duties related to sales, merchandising, purchasing, receiving and invoice reconciliation.
· Works directly with and trains Pro Shop team in proper merchandising and displaying.
· Demonstrates high level customer service, proper work methods and instructs safety procedures to ensure compliance of safety regulations.
· Implements, enforces and complies with company policies and procedures.
· Answers questions concerning policies, procedures and work methods for employees.
· Reports status and progress of merchandising to Director of Golf and/or General Manager as requested.
· Prepares and processes damage claims, order acknowledgments and Golf Shop fill in requests.
· Prepares and processes special order requests for Members and staff uniforms.
· Receives and tags merchandise; inputs orders and receiving information into accounting system.
· Coordinates and prepares for monthly and year-end physical inventories.
· Attends meetings, seminars, trade shows and other functions as required; traveling required.
COMMUNICATION:
· Reports to the PGA Professional and PGA Director of Golf.
· To train and communicate to the team the values and expectations of service delivery in all areas.
· Maintaining effective communication to ensure plans, challenges and successes are understood and individual performance is aligned to Company requirements.
· Respond to any complaints and find the appropriate solution.
· Recruit, supervise, train, evaluate, motivate and retain staff.
· Conduct employee probations.
· Regular reviews with all Pro Shop team.
· Prepare weekly rosters for staff including weekend team rosters and monitor and sign off on all staffs working hours including any overtime.
· Communicates official plans, policies, and procedures to staff in assigned area of responsibility.
· Using excellent customer service skills, establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other employees, officials and all members of the public.
· Attend weekly HOD and management meetings.
People Management / Training & Development:
· Continuously develop job knowledge by attending all scheduled company training.
· Action any training and development needs of the team.
· Coaches, Mentors and supports all departments.
· Promoting and contributing to a harmonious working environment where all employees are treated with respect and dignity.
· Ensure team members are conversant with and aware of Company standards and that those standards are fully implemented.
· Utilise leadership skills and motivation to maximise employee productivity and satisfaction.
Financial:
· Develop annual budget for the Pro Shop.
· Prepare daily, weekly, monthly and year reports for the PGA Director of Golf.
· Comparing pricing with various suppliers.
· Completing of monthly stocktake with accounts team.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
· Should be proficient in managing Pro Shop merchandise, providing excellent customer service and handling retail sales.
· A proven track record of success within the golf industry.
· Graduation from an accredited college or university in an appropriate curriculum and background experience in business or marketing.
· Experience in Jonas Software.
· The successful candidate will possess several years (5+ years) of proven management experience within a high-end golf club, luxury resort, or premium retail environment.
They must demonstrate a strong track record in retail operations leadership, driving team performance and consistently delivering exceptional guest service in a 5-star or equivalent setting.

Able to work effectively with and present information to other department heads, staff and vendors.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
