Health and Safety Officer
OUR CLIENT:
Our client is a well-established large main contractor involved in constructing Data Centers from "first sod" to commissioning and handover. Projects range from €50 million to €250 million.
They are seeking a HS officer for a long-term project in Frankfurt. Regular flights, an own apartment, and a living allowance will be provided.
Duties:
1. Conduct regular site audits and inspections as per the Safety Management System.
2. Maintain records of statutory inspections for all activities and equipment.
3. Complete statutory notifications to the Health & Safety Authority and report incidents/accidents; conduct inspector site visits as required.
4. Deliver health & safety induction programs for new employees and contractors.
5. Serve as the client representative at site meetings.
6. Organize and chair safety meetings for client and subcontractor personnel.
7. Ensure subcontractor safety statements and method statements are available and assess them; assist in drafting and communicating method statements.
8. Update and communicate site emergency plans.
9. Conduct accident investigations and statutory notifications, keeping the Group Safety Officer informed.
10. Ensure First Aiders are available, supplies are stocked, and certifications are current.
11. Gather information for the Safety File and prepare for project handover.
Requirements:
1. Experience in data center construction is not required; experience with main contractors is essential.
2. Relevant third-level degree or NEBOSH qualification in Environmental, Health & Safety.
3. At least 4 years of managing environmental, health, and safety on large construction sites.
4. Thorough knowledge of current legislation.
5. Flexible working patterns as needed.
6. Strong management and communication skills, proficient in reporting and documentation.
7. Ability to work independently with strong interpersonal skills.
