The ServicesTech Digital Platforms Architecture Lead is a strategic professional who closely follows latest trends in their field and adapts them for application within their job and the business. Typically a small number of people within the business provide the same level of expertise. Excellent communication skills are required to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. The role is accountable for significant direct business results or authoritative advice regarding the operations of the business, necessitating a degree of responsibility over technical strategy. It primarily affects a sub‑function and is responsible for handling staff management issues, including resource management and allocation of work within the team or project.
What You’ll Do
Develop architecture, strategy, planning, and problem‑solving solutions on an enterprise level.
Interface across several channels, acting as a visionary to proactively assist in defining direction for future projects.
Maintain continuous awareness of business, technical, and infrastructure issues and act as a sounding board or consultant to aid in the development of creative solutions.
Depending on project scope, be accountable for end‑to‑end results including budgeting, policy formulation, and providing future‑state technology strategies for an effort.
Interface with vendors to assess their technology and guide their product roadmap based on Citigroup requirements.
Provide thought leadership in subjects that are key to the business.
Impact the technology function through contribution to technical direction and strategic decisions.
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to policy, applying sound ethical judgment, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
What We’ll Need From You
GenAI Expertise: Extensive experience in GenAI, encompassing LLM Platforms (Azure OpenAI, OpenAI, Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude), AI Engineering (LangChain, LlamaIndex, Vector Databases), AI Governance (Model Risk Management, Responsible AI guardrails, Feature Stores), and RAG Architectures (document loaders, embeddings, retrieval pipelines).
Cloud‑Native & Microservice Architectures: Proficiency in cloud‑native architectures, delivering solutions using microservice patterns, and a solid understanding of HTTP and REST‑based architectures.
Agile & DevOps Proficiency: Strong aptitude for Agile and DevOps methodologies, including continuous integration, test automation, frequent releases, and containerization.
Development & Operations Tooling: Experience with key development and operations tools such as TeamCity, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Helm, OpenShift, and Amazon Web Services.
Database Knowledge: Basic knowledge of both relational databases (SQL) and non‑relational databases (e.g., MongoDB).
Extensive Experience & Accountability: Over 10 years of relevant experience, including operating highly visible projects with senior accountability.
Communication & Organizational Skills: Demonstrated clear and concise written and verbal communication, strong management and prioritization skills, and the capacity to develop working relationships.
Self‑Driven & Methodical Approach: A self‑starter who can take initiative, master new tasks quickly, manage multiple activities and changing priorities, work under pressure to meet tight deadlines, and maintain a methodical, detail‑oriented approach.
Education
Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially a Master’s degree.
