Water Treatment Plant Management Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Water Treatment Plant Operational Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our wastewater treatment plants in the Cork region. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of water treatment processes, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to manage a team effectively.
About the Role:
This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a high level of technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and effective communication abilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of operators, craftspeople, and scientists, ensuring that all aspects of plant operations are running smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
* Operational Management:
* Manage the routine operational, maintenance, and process activities at the treatment plants and associated pumping stations as directed by senior management.
* Ensure contractual requirements are met to produce positive outcomes for EPS and clients.
* Responsible for managing routine process monitoring of treatment processes to ensure compliance and cost-effectiveness of O&M contracts.
* Available to guide and direct on-call teams to ensure contractual compliance and cost-effective solutions in out-of-hours environments.
* Assist operational team members with tasks and arrange coverage for holidays, sickness, and training.
Requirements:
* Skills and Qualifications:
* Proven track record of managing operational staff.
* Good command of English language required; excellent communication and interpersonal skills essential.
* Computer literacy and ability to use spreadsheets and other basic computer programs necessary.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Strong collaborative skills with an ability to work effectively on your own or in a team environment.
* Willingness to learn and be challenged in the water and wastewater industry.
* Degree standard qualification required; engineering and/or science degree desirable.
* Full clean driving license obligatory.
