Located in Dublin, Cruiserath Biologics Campus, a one billion Multi-Product Cell Culture Biologics Manufacturing facility plays a central role in the Global Product Development and Supply (GPS) network as the company’s first European biologics manufacturing facility. This state of the art facility will produce multiple therapies for the company’s growing biologics portfolio. Global Biologics Laboratory (GBL) responsible for the release testing of Biologics Drug product for the network, is also based on the Cruiserath Biologics Campus.

The Role
BMS Cruiserath Biologics is seeking to recruit a permanent Senior Manager, Engineering Operations and Maintenance -Drug Substance.
Position Summary
* Reporting to the Associate Director of Operation and Maintenance, The Senior Manager, Engineering Operations and Maintenance -Drug Substance will be responsible for the development and execution of maintenance programs to ensure site operations are safe and reliable. They will lead a team to ensure the safe and reliable maintenance of Upstream and Downstream processing equipment.
Key Responsibilities
* Management of the Maintenance and planning teams by providing a clear vision and defining specific and timely objectives.
* Responsible for maintenance standards that will ensure safe and reliable operations. Establish specific expectations and objectives to ensure compliance with EHS guidelines, cGMP regulations, company policies and other external agency regulations. Identify areas of opportunities and prepare specific actions plans to maintain compliance.
* Develop, organise and implement a predictive and preventative maintenance programme for all relevant equipment and systems. Ensure instrumentation calibration is completed in compliance with regulatory requirements. Maximise plant efficient and utilisation with effective planning of activities and resources.
* Responsible for the recruitment of maintenance staff, training and development and the completion of performance management activities.
* Ensure that equipment failures or issues are responded to promptly and appropriately. Develop preventative action where required.
* Participation in regulatory and corporate audits.
* Develop and manage department budget, track and approve expenditure.
* Support and develop Reliability Excellence initiatives and use new technologies and methodologies to improve overall effectiveness of maintenance programs.
* Provide guidance to Maintenance Technicians regarding work planning, re-prioritisation and re-assignment of work (during core working hours), as required (e.g. where minimum no. of Technicians for a task is not achievable or if Technicians suffer fatigue and require supervisor guidance).
* Perform Safety GEMBA at assigned intervals.
Qualifications&Experience
The successful candidate must possess at minimum a Level 8 Engineering related qualification.
* 10 years’ experience in similar industry with exposure to maintenance / engineering planning.
* Ability to keep work pace and meet deadlines. Good delegation, organising and planning skills.
* Excellent communication/presentation skills. Problem solver with a focus on achievement of overall project goals.
* Proven success working well in a team environment with flexibility to react to changing business needs.
* Ability to anticipate, evaluate and resolve multiple, simultaneous project issues, delays and problems by utilising technical, project management, and business expertise.
* Ability to work independently and remotely with minimum direct supervision.
* Safety first mentality
* Strong critical thinking skills.
* Ensuring compliance with practices, policies, procedures, legal requirements and goals of project sponsors and approved methodologies, develop supporting documentation and monitor budget tracking/ timeliness/ scheduled resources.
* Thorough knowledge of Pharmaceutical Industry Regulations (cGMP/cGLP, OSHA, EPA/EQB) required
* CMMS experience in Maximo, SAP or similar.
