Our distinction flows from our carefully curated team: 2,500+ professionals characterised by tenacity, ethics and exacting excellence. We hire smart and sharpen smarter, arming talent with best‑in‑class resources and skills. Operating in key financial centres across the Americas, Asia, Europe and the Middle East, our international presence offers a unique springboard for career development and cross‑cultural immersion. Our side‑by‑side legal and financial services are similarly ripe for interdisciplinary learning and growth.
About the Role
The law firm distinguishes itself with an enterprising and client‑focused approach, providing solutions tailored to our client specific needs. This is a fantastic opportunity to join and to make a big contribution to a highly collegiate and focused team that operates at the top of the market in fast developing sectors which are set for growth whatever the prevailing domestic market conditions. The Maples Corporate team in Dublin works both for international, institutional clients and Irish established innovation driven enterprises. In the latter, the team acts as lead counsel facing up against counterparties represented by large international firms.
This is a position unique to the Dublin Private Practice market, to work within a small high‑end team with attractive demographics and real opportunities for progression. Associates will enjoy an unrivalled exposure to quality and visible transactions and will be provided the opportunity to build their profile in the market. The team is hugely collegiate and works very closely with the other Dublin practice areas to ensure a seamless and comprehensive service for its clients while supporting the associates in each team.
This role will allow the successful candidate every opportunity to make a name in the local market while developing their technical and client management skills in a mature, sophisticated and globally recognised business.
What You Bring
Applicants should have highly relevant experience in M&A and corporate finance and be looking for a long‑term career with the Maples Group. Candidates must have 4‑8 year's relevant post‑qualification experience and have completed a minimum of a 2‑year training contract. Both experience and training should have been completed with a leading law firm in Dublin or a major onshore jurisdiction. Outstanding academics are a must but so too is a real understanding of the business of law and an interest in business development.
Candidates will require experience in the following key areas: M&A, venture capital and private equity in its core areas of focus. Equity capital markets experience while not essential, will be given added weight.
This post requires significant attention to detail, professionalism, ability to multi‑task, and excellent organisational, prioritisation and communications skills.
