Morgan McKinley are seeking a Procurement and Purchasing Specialist to join their clients function in Cork.In this role, you'll be central to ensuring efficient purchasing, sourcing, and stock control across the business. You'll work closely with suppliers, vendors, and internal teams to support cost efficiency, maintain optimal inventory levels, and drive continuous improvement throughout the supply chain.Key ResponsibilitiesManage daily purchasing and stock control activities in line with company policies.Conduct materials planning and forecasting using ERP/MRP, Min-Max systems, and digital tools.Create and manage purchase orders, monitor supplier performance, and implement corrective actions.Collaborate with Sales and Operations to forecast inventory and avoid shortages or excess stock.Maintain inventory levels within agreed targets, analysing trends to optimise cost and efficiency.Act as a liaison between purchasing, sales, operations, and warehouse teams to ensure smooth coordination.Support and improve end-to-end purchasing processes, driving cost-reduction and efficiency initiatives.Oversee procurement operations and MRP to ensure timely, cost-effective material acquisition.Assist with stock-taking and resolve supply chain issues such as shortages, discrepancies, and delivery delays.Prepare reports and insights to support continuous improvement in purchasing and stock control.Education & ExperienceDegree/Diploma in Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, or equivalent experience.Minimum 5 years' experience in purchasing, sourcing, stock control, or supply chain.Packaging industry experience is an advantage but not essential.Membership of IIPMM (or interest in joining) welcomed.Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or distribution environment preferred.Proficiency with inventory management systems and Microsoft Office.
