Now, we're looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Food Quality Inspector for an immediate start to cover staff illness.
Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Food Quality Inspector, you will be the key link between suppliers and retailers, ensuring only the best-quality produce reaches consumers. Your responsibilities will include:
Benchmarking our client products against those being supplied into other retailers, concluding with a league table comparison for each product, grading retailers from best to worst.
Inspecting fresh and prepared produce in a goods-in distribution warehouse (often in a chilled environment)
Inspecting fresh and prepared produce in our client retail stores.
Assessing quality against client specifications, including size, condition, freshness, packaging, and weight
Using our digital inspection app to record details and non-conformances accurately, submitting data to our HQ
Communicating clearly and effectively with colleagues, warehouse and stores teams
Working independently while ensuring quality standards are upheld.
What You Need to Succeed
A food industry background or a recent qualification in a food-related subject is essential. Ideal experience includes:
● Chefs & catering professionals
● Food quality and technical teams
● Fresh produce or meat production
● Auditing and quality assurance within the food industry
Exceptional attention to detail – you can spot quality issues others might miss.
Proficiency with mobile technology – you'll use an iPad for data recording and reporting.
Ability to work independently – you are self-motivated and take initiative.
Strong communication skills – you'll interact with colleagues, warehouse teams and clients daily.
Full driving licence - travel is a requirement, you will need access to a vehicle.
Right to work in Ireland - proof of eligibility will be required, if applicable.

● 14.50 euros per hour
● Mileage reimbursed 0.50 cents per kilometre for all travel away from your base location
● Comprehensive training and all equipment provided
● Work across multiple locations across the Nass and Mitchelstown areas
● Flexible schedule – average of 2 days every week for at least 2 months and regular cover for team holiday and sickness in the future on a casual basis.
